BY ROAD
FROM CALAIS: It's about an 8 hour drive from Calais to Les Houches. Most of our guests prefer to avoid Paris by continuing on the A26 autoroute to Laons, Chalons and Troyes and then on the A5 to Dijon. There is a new road after that: the A39 that passes Lons-Le Saunier to Bourg en Bresse. After that Geneva is signposted on the A40. Passing Geneva you are on the "Route Blanche" or A40 autoroute signposted Chamonix and the Mont Blanc tunnel.
APROACHING LES HOUCHES on the Autoroute Blanche passing Geneva: About 20 km from Chamonix you'll climb a very long bridge. After the bridge you'll pass through two small tunnels. Directly after the second tunnel there is an exit marked Les Houches. Take this and you will come to a T junction with the Bellevue cable car right opposite you. Turn right. Keep straight on till you come to a roundabout. Take the second exit (Route des Chavants). After passing a small lane (Route des S'nailles) follow the major road which swings to the left climbing the hill. Continuing to climb the road swings right and just before the junction underneath the cables of the Prarion ski lift you will see the chalet to the left slightly below the road. The name will be marked on a post box by the road and also on a sign on the side of the chalet. We recommend you drive past the chalet, turn around and then positioning your car just beyond the drive way that you back into the chalet drive way. If you can't find us ring us.It would be helpful if you could ring or text us enroute to tell us how your journey is going and when you expect to arrive. The chalet is availabe for arrivals any time after 4,00 pm.

Your itinerary : From Calais To Les Houches
But please note that at the very end of the route where it suggests the shortcut up Chemin de la Ravanière it is best to carry on up Route des Chavants and go round the hairpin instead.

Michelin Map Calais - Chalet Savoy
But please note that when it gets to Les Houches Via Michelin tries to take you up a road that is only suitable for 4x4 vehicles. Please follow the above instructions from Bellevue cable car at the end of your journey.

Bon Voyage.
